Fractional Accounting & Finance Operations

Your team is already running at capacity.

From clerk to controller — I bring the capacity your team needs.

Accounting projects don't wait for your team to have bandwidth. Staffing gaps, system implementations, and month-end surge land on whoever's already doing three other things. I step in and do the work, from clerk to controller, for as long as you need it.

The Problem

The hidden cost isn't the project. It's your team.

Lean accounting and finance teams run tight. There's usually just enough people to get the work done. Until there isn't. A team member goes on leave. The company kicks off a new system implementation. Month-end falls in the same week as a board package. An auditor asks for three years of reconciled data by Friday.

None of these are unusual. All of them become someone else's second job. The work doesn't pause. The close still has to close. The books still have to balance. And the people absorbing the extra load do it quietly, until they can't anymore.

That's the gap I fill. I step in, do the work, and take the pressure off your team without the cost or commitment of a full-time hire.

How I Can Help

Two Ways to Engage

Fractional Operations · Hourly or retainer

This is the work. Hands-on accounting and finance execution from clerk-level processing and reconciliations up through controller-level close coordination and implementation oversight. Engagements can be ongoing or as-needed, on retainer or hourly. No long-term commitment required.

Tech Advisory · Fixed fee

Thinking about adding, changing, or removing an accounting or finance tool? Before you commit to a vendor or sign a SOW, you should understand whether the tool is the right fit, what you're agreeing to, and what questions to ask before it's too late. I've been on the partner side of these engagements. I know what the fine print means and where the gaps are. I don't accept referral fees or commissions from any software vendor, so my recommendations are about what fits your team.

About

I've Been on Both Sides of This

I started my career in accounting, working inside the function, learning how the close works, how systems break down, and what lean teams are actually dealing with day to day. Then I moved to the consulting side, spending time as an implementation consultant at a Sage Intacct partner, helping companies stand up new systems. That's where I learned what implementations look like from the outside: the scoping decisions, the gaps in SOWs, the work that quietly lands on the client team. Then I came back in-house. And I've been here since, running the close, owning the platforms, building the integrations, and doing the work. That combination, operator then consultant then operator again, is what makes this different. I know what your team is walking into before they realize it themselves.

A few specifics:

  • 20+ years of accounting and finance experience, clerk through controller
  • Former Sage Intacct implementation consultant (partner side)
  • Internal Intacct SME, administrator, and Customer Advisory Board member
  • Implemented and administered Ramp, Bill.com, Rippling, and Workato
  • Currently: Accounting Director and Finance Engineer at a growth-stage company

I work with a small number of clients at a time. That's intentional. The work I do requires real attention and I'm not interested in spreading it thin.
